The Arctic Passage
Hooper Plumbing Gets an Insider’s View While Working in Bear Den
- It’s not every day that you can say you worked in a bear den, but that is just want Hooper plumbers have been doing for the past several months as they plumb the Henry Vilas Zoo’s newest exhibit: the Arctic Passage
- The Hooper Plumbing Department worked on many pieces to this project including the installation of an underwater viewing area for polar bears and a creek that can be stocked with fish for grizzly bears.
- With a focus on sustainability, the new design features an underwater storage tank that will save over 2 million gallons of water each year.
- This exhibit is expected to open in summer of 2015
