Project Delivery
Let Hooper’s experience and commitment to excellence help guide your next construction project. You’ll discover how working with our multi-disciplinary team of professionals leads to timeline efficiencies, cost savings, increased productivity, and quality construction. Every day, our experts collaborate with general contractors, utility companies, engineers, architects, and business owners on real-time solutions necessary for planning, designing and executing a build project.
Hooper is an expert in Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) often used for complex infrastructure projects in the renewable energy industry and power sector. An EPC approach utilizes one entity — a design-build team — to work under a single contract with the owner to provide design and construction services.
Our experience has shown that the cost impact of decisions made earlier in the project tend to have a larger impact. By allowing us to bring in our team of personnel early to identify material selections and alternates, understand the construction sequence and timeline, and lock down budget targets, we are already running at full speed when time for construction begins. This minimizes the reactionary time that can cost the project productivity when daily costs are high. It also brings the team together to create a rapport such that any issues that arise can be dealt with.
EPC reduces the amount of owner resources needed to manage projects and ultimately results in cost savings. By having the same team coordinate all the work, EPC is more efficient than contracting the project separately and commissioning different agents.
For nearly 20 years, the vast majority of projects Hooper’s Mechanical teams completed have either been Design-Assist or Design-Build in nature. We are frequently able to call upon our years of experience in both designing and installing quality fire protection, HVAC and plumbing systems for cost saving solutions.
By staying ahead of the curve on new design technologies, Hooper is able to contribute to the most prepared project delivery teams. Successful Design-Assist projects require everyone on the project team to take an active role in all phases of the construction process. From the earliest stages of a project, we incorporate everyone, from design engineers to our field supervisors, and utilize their many years of experience to create coordination documents that are thorough and effective.
Once documents have passed the many stages of clash detection and resolution, project managers and foremen develop well researched and accurate schedules. We have an honest and straight forward approach to scheduling and work to establish realistic and attainable goals. We are in constant communication with all members of the project delivery team, because we see this as a crucial piece of the project.
BIM/VDC
Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) technologies are quickly becoming the standard in the construction industry. At Hooper, we recognized early on the value of virtual design methods to improve the construction process. Today, our design teams can utilize BIM and VDC together, or independently, depending on the needs of the project. Both technologies emphasize collaboration and continuous communication between key project stakeholders including contractors, engineers, architects, and owners.
BIM
Hooper designers create an accurate digital model of the construction project, which assists with the planning and coordination of the construction process. A BIM design includes all functional systems and aesthetics, like electrical wiring, air handling systems, plumbing, fire protection, doors, windows, etc. BIM helps identify scheduling conflicts, safety concerns, and build challenges that can extend construction timelines and budgets. And, virtual designs continue to be a useful resource for facility management teams after construction is complete.
VDC
Hooper’s VDC teams combine management strategies and virtual tools to bring together the right people and right technology to reach a common goal. The idea behind VDC is to engage key project stakeholders and construction partners at the earliest stage of the construction process with access to a collaborative environment. VDC forms a communication link between all key partners and serves as a valuable resource for identifying any issues during construction – from identifying preconstruction gaps in sequence and schedule to updating material deliveries and quality checks. Our VDC professionals will help guide the construction timeline and keep your project moving forward, efficiently and on budget.
At Hooper, we connect people to the resources they need. Every day, we interactive with the world around us and are committed to renewable energy initiatives and environmentally friendly building practices that improve the future for the next generation.
Our Electric Power Division partners with utility companies across the country and helps build the infrastructure that supports reliable and renewable energy resources, like wind and solar. To minimize our footprint, we employ helicopters to carry large structures to remote locations, complete work in the middle of winter to protect sensitive natural areas, and donate time and resources to enhance the environment to preserve wildlife. When natural disasters occur, Hooper crews respond to return power and a safe living environment for people across the country.
Our Mechanical Division employs environmentally friendly designs and products that aim to reduce the carbon footprint and create safe and healthy living and working environments. Our team of professionals will help design, build, and maintain renewable features that are environmentally responsible and use resources efficiently.
Our new campus reflects our commitment to sustainable building practices, and we invested in renewable energy features not just for today, but for tomorrow.
